TÜV AUSTRIA Shanghai achieves ISO 17020 Inspection Body Accreditation
- Created by TUEV AUSTRIA
Trade depends on reliable market entry management for goods, ensuring legality and product quality. TÜV AUSTRIA Group has been a reliable provider of Global Market Access services (GMAP). The recent ISO 17020 accreditation follows TÜV AUSTRIA Shanghai’s ISO 17065 accreditation in 2020, which authorises the TÜV AUSTRIA subsidiary to assess SASO (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization) SABER Certification and Quality Mark Certification. With ISO 17020 authority, TÜV AUSTRIA’s Chinese group member significantly expands its inspection services portfolio.
ISO 17020 accreditation now brings TÜV AUSTRIA Shanghai full circle, authorised to perform wide range of inspection duties, such as type approvals, initial tests on industrial plants, in-operation inspections and monitoring services. With the ISO 17020 categorization “A”, TÜV AUSTRIA Shanghai has been accredited as a fully independent inspection body for products, processes and services.
With both ISO 17020 and 17065 accreditations under its belt, TÜV AUSTRIA Shanghai set out to receive further authorizations in the Middle East and other regions.
TÜV AUSTRIA Shanghai’s general manager Ivan Huang is gleaming: “Receiving both conformity assessment authority and inspection body accreditation is a great honour and achievement, but the true reward is our staff’s singular commitment in view of the broad scopes covered by ISO 17020 and 17065”.
