TÜV AUSTRIA Romania participated in a major organic farming fair held in Bacau from September 20th to 23rd: the International Fair ECO-INT 2018 NATURAL TASTE.

The event included the specialized conferences “Organic Farming - National and International Realities and Opportunities” and “How Can You Become a Farmer in Organic Farming?”. There were also, workshops, round-tables, bilateral discussions, ecological gourmet contests and study visits for exhibitors and partners.

Visitors to the fair were able to enjoy shopping at a part of the exhibition where exhibitors displayed their traditional products and certified organic food.

The event was attended by agricultural producers and processors as well as by distributors of plant protection fertilizers and agricultural machinery for organic farming domestically and abroad. Key topics of interest were not only provided by conferences and seminars on successful business themes related to eco products and case studies, but also by product and service presentations and an exchange of information.

This event was attended by prestigious companies, scientists and academics in organic farming from Germany, France, Sweden, Hungary, Switzerland, Italy and the Republic of Moldova.

During the four days of the fair, we had the opportunity to have discussions with representatives of public authorities, farmers, organic processors and agricultural machinery distributors. Organic farming is an increasingly important field in the Romanian market, with conventional agriculture producers showing an increased interest in the sector. The many requests we receive for organic certification and other intensive work carried out by our lab, which is receiving more and more samples on a daily basis for physico-chemical analyses of agro-food products, are proof of producers' interest in organic certification and the quality of the products they sell.

“The second edition of this fair is not yet at the maximum we want to reach but it is the only fair of its kind in Romania and we want to persevere. About 80% of our producers of fertilizers for organic agriculture came to the show, these being the most serious producers. We also have many foreign partners who sent equipment and materials they want to present to Romanian farmers, some of which are unique to our market. ” said Mr. Marius Casis, vice president of ARAD (Romanian Association for Sustainable Agriculture).
